Hi, I'm Sara...
Sometimes we get lost and stuck in our pain from the hard things that have happened to us. But my job is to help clients rediscover the strong and gifted person that has always been there, so that we can face the hard stuff together and write a new story of resilience and hope.
So much of this therapeutic work with children involves facilitating the healing bond between caregivers and their kids. I love coming alongside caregivers to equip and empower them as they help their child navigate difficult life circumstances. We peel back the layers of our stories in the counseling room through play, sand tray, expressive arts, music, books, and experiential activities.
Before becoming a counselor, I worked in international education - in Central Asia and Stateside - as an art teacher and graphic designer. I have enjoyed translating my passion for connecting with people of all backgrounds to the counseling space. In my free time, I enjoy tending to my sourdough starter (and eating all the bread), gardening, and textile dyeing. But most of my time is spent with my husband, living the beautiful, messy, ordinary things with our two young children.
